Verner Panton 'Pantonova' Six-Piece Living Room Suite for Fritz Hansen, 1971

About the Item

This iconic original 'Pantonova' set by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen consists of six convex nickel-plated steel wire chairs that form a circular sectional sofa seating suite or can be used individually as lounge chairs or used in two separate sections as a pair of curved loveseats. The Verner Panton 'Pantonova' wire furniture system consists of parallel wire rods with open sides. It was originally designed and produced as part of the work for the Varna restaurant in Arhus, DK in 1971. All the seating can be freely combined, has individual upholstery and can accordingly be arranged into different formations. This set is upholstered with removable purple fabric cushions. This original six element 'Pantonova' sectional sofa set by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen would pair well with other wire designs such as ones from Warren Platner and Harry Bertoia for Knoll Associates and Knoll International. Would also pair excellent with other space age mod designs such as Eero Aarnio and Eero Saarinen. Consider placing in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using individually as a set of side chairs, lower seated dining, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chairs, fireside chairs, dressing or changing room chairs, hallway chairs, entryway or mudroom chairs, nursing or reading chairs, conference room chairs or office chairs, guest chairs, lobby chairs, lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting. MEASUREMENTS: Each piece measures: H 29" x W 30" x D 30" Seat Height: 16" Seat Depth: 22" CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with light patina overall. Some lower sections with moderate patina. Patina can be cleaned if desired however we left the original patina for those who prefer keeping it, if you wish us to clean the frames prior to shipping please message us to request. Fabric cushions are in good vintage condition with light and even overall fading and light wear. Current fabric cushions are usable as-is in a vintage setting or can be reupholstered for new contemporary rooms.

This monumentally sized modular 'Camaleonda' sectional living room set (fourteen pieces in total) by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, each section signed with labels as can be seen in the photos. This set consists of six sections labelled with C&B labels and two sections with B&B labels, meaning that most of this set was produced between 1970 and 1973 - the original production years of the Camaleonda, and making this set ideal for collectors and investors of art and design. *We have a large quantity of other Camaleonda elements (C&B Italia and B&B Italia examples, both in mohair fabric and in leather including some sets ready for reupholstery to a new fabric or leather of your choice) if you are looking for a larger set, contact us to discuss. • Paul Frankl 'Speed' Art Deco Living Room Suite in Black Leather, circa 1930s
    By Paul Frankl
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
This incredible Paul Frankl attributed 'Speed' full living room suite is comprised of a three-seat sofa, a 2-seat sofa, armchair and ottoman. The 3-seat sofa and armchair are original 1930s production based on the interior construction details and visible age. The 2-seat sofa and ottoman were created later in the 1980s to match the set and everything was then reupholstered to a thick quality black leather. I personally love this set - the wide arms are perfect for placing a glass of Scotch and an ashtray to enjoy a nice cigar. The deep black color and matching black block feet provide ample masculine style while the shape and silhouette provide a refined and classy vibe. The leather is thick and quality, also smooth and soft to the touch. The collector who acquired this sofa and armchair, purportedly in the 1980s, stated he found what he believed to be a Frankl Galleries (Paul Frankl's 1930s showroom) original example of the Speed sofa...
