Osvaldo Borsani D70 daybed sofa Tecno Italy 1954

About the Item

Beautiful D70 daybed/sofa designed by Osvaldo Borsani D70 and manufactured by Tecno in Italy in 1954. This comfortable daybed/sofa is truly unique. What sets it apart is the special mechanism that allows you to adjust the angles between the seat and backrest, even making them completely reversible. It's a clever design that offers many different positions, transforming it into a bed within seconds. The sofa has been reupholstered in a lovely petrol blue fabric by Danish producer Gabriel, perfectly matching the style of the original sofa. It looks stunning and feels great to sit or lie on. You can identify its authenticity by the Tecno sticker on the frame and brass tags on the sides. The smart opening mechanism, operated with a practical knob, lets you find the most comfortable position. It's like having a sofa and a bed all in one! Originally designed to meet a customer's specific needs - to enjoy the view from a window and relax by the fireplace - this patented sofa-bed was showcased at the 10th Triennale Exhibition in 1954. With its stylish design and fantastic functionality, the Osvaldo Borsani D70 Daybed/Sofa remains a timeless classic, perfect for any home, lounge, or office space. It's an impressive piece that combines comfort, versatility, and elegance in one outstanding package. Like all our upholstered pieces these can also be newly upholstered to your admiration. Ask our experienced upholstery department for an affordable quote for the item you want customised. We only use the best quality fabrics, foam, and materials for all our items. With the reupholstery we will always keep the originality in mind so the piece doesn’t lose its value and will be ready for years of use again. • Mario Bellini Quartet sofa Cassina Italy 1964
    By Mario Bellini
    Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Extremely rare 932 'Quartet' sofa designed by architect Mario Bellini and manufactured by Cassina in Italy in 1964. Very early model made up of five separate pieces. It's quite challenging to come across one in this large and impressive size. What makes it even more special is its gorgeous cognac colour. This sofa's modular design means you can arrange its elements in various ways to suit different settings. It's still in good original condition, considering its age, with some expected wear and tear that adds character and enhances its beautiful appearance and patina. There are no holes or tears in it. In the 1960s Mario Bellini reinterpreted the concept of classic furniture stuffing with the 932 model, transforming the padding of the traditional armchair into an item of furniture: four independent cushions connected by a belt passed around the outside. Bellini took as his starting point Le Corbusier’s Grand...
