These set of 6 bar stools, crafted by Finnish designer Olavi Hänninen in the 1960s, boast unique warm tones due to their dark stained Elm wood construction. Hand-carved with precision, each bar stool is a truly one-of-a-kind piece. The pentagon shape of the seats adds a playful element to their appearance. These stools are in pristine original condition. Hänninen (1920-1992) was a highly acclaimed interior architect and designer renowned for his exceptional work in furniture, silverware, public spaces, and public transport. These stools feature a solid elm build with a thick pentagonal seat and three splayed leg braces. The edges of the wooden pieces have been smoothed, imparting a softer look and feel—a fantastic original patina with minor traces of use.

The tray features irregular edges that are 6 cm thick and rests on four feet connected by ties. The table has brutalist lines typical of Scandinavian design from the 1950s and is entirely removable. Olavi Hänninen was a designer who worked on various projects, including furniture, trams, church silverware, and total interior designs for many public facilities. He was well known for his modernist designs, particularly tables and chairs. He worked on the interiors of the Palace Hotel with Antti Nurmesniemi and Olli Borg, where he designed a renowned plastic chair with a metal structure for the hotel's café. In the 1970s, Hänninen's designs included the new Valmet Nr I trams for Helsinki City Transport. Before starting his own design office in 1961, he worked at architect Viljo Revell...Category
