HUG counter stool aged brass steel and vegetable tanned natural tobacco leather The HUG counter stool is designed and conceived with a light aesthetic, the slight oscillation of the steel rod of 14 mm is complemented by the flexibility of the 3.5 mm thick leather. Our HUG pieces are done with cold bended steel rods, lacquered polished steel and screw brass lathed to fix the steel to the saddle leather. Leathers are Spanish hides vegetable tanned. Jover+Valls uses premium vegetable tanned leathers in multiple colors in order to adjust to your taste and interior needs. This traditional method of tanning leather is an organic technique that relies on natural tannings from bark or plant tissues. The use of oils and natural fats give the leather a distinctive flexibility and texture, allowing it to be molded, retain its shape and age graciously. All of the skins are carefully selected, with a minimum thickness of 3.5 mm, using the part of the animal's croup, which allows for larger pieces and uniformity. Even with careful selection natural marks as a result of the contact with other animals, the age, origin and characteristics of the skin, or even the season in which the tanning takes place cannot be avoided. We still believe that these factors only add authenticity and uniqueness to every piece. The vegetable tanning is a traditional and artisan treatment, which is respectful to the environment. The process of polishing and lacquering the steel, goes through a manual and delicate chroming process, which gives its final and unique metal color finish. This precise technique gives a uniform metallic finish of minimum 50 microns over the entire surface. Our metal finishing have successfully passed a corrosion resistance test in a salt spray chamber according to UNE-EN ISO 9227: 2017 and UNE-EN ISO 1456: 2010. When sitting in this furniture you feel an enveloping sensation, like being hugged, since the weight of the body is distributed evenly. Each unit becomes a refuge of visual and ergonomic wellbeing.
