Grand Country French Buffet a Deaux Corps

About the Item

Circa 1770 grand country French buffet à deux corps from Normandy. Rare galbée form, the interiors shelves also conforming to the shape. Rococo. Basket flower, tendrils, bunches of grapes & leaf carving, indicative of the region. Oak. Well-shaped, molded panel doors, sides and back construction. Raised on chunky short cabriole legs ending in whorl or escargot feet. Shaped aprons continue the visual movement of the overall piece. Steel hardware. Locks removed & key holes filled on drawers.
