19th Century Elm Coffer Cabinet / Console, Tianjin China

About the Item

A rare three-drawer coffer table or console in Jamu wood (Northern elm), with enclosed cabinet and original bronze hardware. Tianjin, China, mid-19th century. Very well preserved, this piece is a Classic example of precision in Asian carpentry, with its complex joint system and beautifully stained finishes, and the patina of time adding to its character and stunning presence. An eye catching element for any eclectic decor.
