Antique 18th Century Louis XV Burled Walnut Armoire
About the Item
An exceptional 18th century French period Louis XV armoire handcrafted of indigenous old growth walnut and burled walnut in the typical technique mastered by the skilled artisans of France, circa 1750s. This large provincial armoire features a chapeau de gendarme crown above moulded, paneled doors in walnut and burled walnut with rare chinoiserie hinges, opening to reveal spacious storage with Three shelves and two drawers. Enough space for a television to hide behind doors. Carved, shaped apron resting on short cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes on pegs. A narrow and beautiful piece with a lovely patina and lots of character.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. This armoire is in great condition. it has one repair on the right back leg but it was repaired years ago and is very sturdy. The inside is original but one shelf has been modified to house a television and small grommet hole is cut in the back.
