Antique Red Lacquer Kitchen Cabinet with Lattice Fretwork & Relief Carved Panels
About the Item
Fine red lacquer kitchen cabinet
The cabinet with an ice-plate edged top, supported on square-sectioned side posts, a pair of doors, flanked by a door on either side, all opening on wooden hinges, the doors decorated in sections, with lattice fretwork, relief-carved and plain panels, opening to reveal a top shelf, a row of drawers forming the top of the lower shelf and bottom panels lifting to a sunken storage space behind a plain horizontal panel, the side posts continuing to form the feet, braced with shaped aprons
The open fret work was for ventilation of food storage.
