About the Item
Spine is a series of tables consisting of two components - a thin aluminium sheet captured in
a cast resin surface. The series is a result of many material explorations concerned with bent forms and enhanced flexibility.
The spine of each table is formed from a 10mm plate
of aluminium. The aluminium is scored on both sides, allowing for the dramatic curve to be formed. The aluminium is anodized and set in place before the resin surface is cast around the skeletal form.
As the resin bonds it constrains the aluminium, suspending the spines´ curve and creating the tables structure. Traces of the organic curve remain visible through the polished resin, its structure evident and essential.

Studio EO
Studio Erik Olovsson is a Stockholm based design studio. It was founded 2013 and works with contemporary objects and furniture. Studio EO has a focus on improvisation and joining materials in new ways. The studio aims at having an intuitive and experimental starting point in the projects and works in a mix of self initiated projects and commissions. Studio EO have works represented at Galerie kreo and works with various of international clients.
Custom colors on resin and anodized aluminium is possible. Matte or polished resin top. Different shapes and size of table top and aluminium is also possible.
