We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our objects. An exceptional and magnificent extending table in Art Deco style; the sumptuous and sturdy Sapele wood base with its distinctive and elegant shape supports a large and massive top also made of Sapele, forming an imposing and majestic whole! The table is extendable, but it did not have its two original extensions, so we arranged to have them made by our team of craftsmen. They are made of wood and fit the table perfectly (see photo). The width of each is cm.40, so with the two extensions mounted, the table reaches a size of cm.240. The table also has been hand-treated with ancient techniques by our team of specialized restorers and is in excellent condition. The most compelling part of this object is the wonderful and fascinating top made of Sapele wood with unique and special workmanship done completely by hand that includes meticulous flattening and a special polishing done in 12 steps...

    Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our items. French extending table in Provencal style made of oak wood; the top has a precious "parqueterie Versailles" workmanship, this name because the design of the decoration was made on the model of a floor of the Palace of Versailles; the underneath and the legs are ebonized wood with some light carving; the legs are "cabriole "that is, a design shaped in two curves, the upper one convex and the lower one concave; a shape known to the ancient Chinese and Greeks, which came back into fashion in Europe at the end of the 17th century, when it was incorporated into the more curvilinear styles introduced in England, France and Holland; with this type of leg, the design becomes very pleasing, well-proportioned and elegant. The term parquet is of French origin and seems to have originated in the 1600s, a time when wooden floors were at their most popular. The word parquet comes from the technique of marqueterie or parqueterie i.e., inlay applied to fine furniture. The table extends easily, the two extensions, originally, slide out from under the top and fit with the top itself in a perfect and aesthetically pleasing manner. This work of art was created by a true master cabinetmaker in a perfect and meticulous manner in France between 1910 and 1915 in an artisan workshop in the artisan area of Bru, in the department of Vosges in the Grand Est Region. The style is typically Provençal, but the finishing of the top and the choice to create a pleasant contrast, using black for the part underneath, give it a strong aesthetic and make it much more elegant and refined than Provençal furniture...
