About the Item
The contemporary "Mezcalito Flaco" side table is one of a collection of three. Each one with a different geometrically shaped based. They are constructed with the same techniques used for creating wooden masts, with eight pieces of wood glued to form an octagon that is turned on a lathe. Hand-crafted from white oak, they are topped with limestone, which offers a charming accent as well as protects the wood from spills and stains.

SinCa Design
SinCa is a furniture design studio founded by wife and husband Maria Camarena and Dave Sinaguglia. Formed in 2016, it is known for its meticulously designed and hand-crafted furniture using traditional woodworking techniques. Maria started her career as an industrial designer in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she founded her first furniture design studio, and then obtained an MFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Dave received formal training in woodworking from the International Yacht Restoration School in Newport RI, and holds a MFA in Sculpture from the University of Connecticut. With their combined skill set Dave and Maria fabricate together every piece in SinCa’s workshop. Together they control and supervise every last detail. SinCa’s woodworking shop and design studio are located within a historic 1850 farmhouse in Tolland, CT. The space, representing a link between the past and the present, has a direct influence on the company’s design strategy and aesthetic. The company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through reforesting and sources its material responsibly. It plants ten trees for each piece sold by partnering with local conservation groups to rejuvenate forests throughout the country.
