About the Item

An important rare square Herbert Bayer art porcelain plate "scenery" executed by Rosenthal - Limitierte Kunstreihen, 1982. The clear stylized scenery is composed of a ball, a cone, a circle and hollow, white glazed porcelain with red, green and blue. Signed to the bottom right with facsimile Herbert Bayer, reverse in golden letters Limitierte Kunstreihen, Rosenthal Studio-Linie, Jahresobjekt 1982, Herbert Bayer 1500/449 and facsimile Herbert Bayer. It is 35 x 35 cm / 13.78 x 13.78 inches tall and wide, 5 cm / 1.97 inches deep. It stays in excellent original condition. Herbert Bayer who studied at the Bauhaus 1921-1923, was later master of typography and advertising at the Bauhaus from 1925-1928. At the same time from 1923-1930 he was artistic director of the Vogue magazine.
