Indian Floral Still-Life from the Midcentury Period with Flowers and Calligraphy

About the Item

An Indian vintage framed still-life of vertical format from the mid-20th century, with white, orange and blue flowers topped with calligraphy. We have four frames available, priced and sold individually. Born in India during the mid-century period, this lovely composition features delicate white, soft pink, orange and blue flowers, surrounded by a matting adorned with scrollwork motifs, followed by an abundance of petite flowers. Set inside a molded frame complimenting the general palette beautifully, this vintage Indian still-life will enliven any wall beautifully, perhaps placed above a demilune table, chest-of-drawers or side table. We have a total of four frames of similar style available, priced and sold individually, $590 each.

Each panel showcases a vertical organization of gilded calligraphy in the center, followed by an horizontal section with scrollwork surrounding a central medallion. The lower part is adorned with additional motifs carved in low relief, depicting either vases, birds and flowers, fishes or monkeys.
