Signed Philip Perkins Vintage Cubist Painting
About the Item
This wonderful painting dated 1970 that has great planes of color and field is by the abstract painter, Philip Perkins. His resume is impressive with early studies in Europe with major painters as Fernard Leger from 1934-1937 and Yves Tanguay whom he roomed with in Paris and studied with. He also studied at the Art Institute in Chicago amongst various other fine institutions. He exhibited at the Salon D' Automne and Salon de Tuilleries in Paris 1934 and also Galerie Maeght. His work hangs in the Guggenheim Museum amongst other notable museums and universities. Framed with a matte white box frame. This may have been one of the last works he did before he died. This is a wonderful small painting.
