About the Item
From a vintage Palm Springs estate designed by Steve Chase for Arthur Elrod, a large Andy Nelson (1920-1996) painting done in 1969. Acrylic on canvas with wood blocks. Mr. Nelson's work is part of the permanent collection at Palm Springs Art Museum and collected by many celebrities in Arthur Elrod Interiors that appeared in Architectural Digest in the early 1970s. This piece hung in a Tamarisk Country Club multi-million dollar estate with architecture by Buff and Hensman and interiors by Elrod. Dated and signed on rear. A very rare and important 20th century modern piece of art.
