This is a sensational oil on canvas of the famous statue of Flora with the Uffizi Boar in the background located on the grounds of Versailles. Executed and signed by the well-known listed British artist, Alexander Jamieson, in the lower right corner and on the reverse side it is dated 1912. It is in original untouched condition with its original and beautifully-carved and gilded wooden frame. Jamieson's portrayal of light filtering through the dense trees is masterful. This painting would make a superb focal point over a mantle or bed or in a library. Minor nicks to the frame are typical for a piece of this age.
