About the Item
One of the most brilliantly painted, high style Art Deco paintings we have ever offered, this vivid depiction of three nude mermaids, amidst a tangle of seaweed, rising bubbles and fish, was painted by Elaine Lincoln in 1931. Lincoln and her sister painted very little, but their works have a vivacious spirit that captures the Jazz Age in all its energy and color. Here, Lincoln paints the scene in shades of Mediterranean blue, turquoise, seafoam green and cerulean, contrasted with warm reds, browns and warm greens. (Dimensions include frame.).
