About the Item
Original vintage motorsport poster for Britain's Greatest Racing Event - The 7th International Daily Express Trophy Meeting Silverstone May 7 1955 Organised by the BRDC - featuring a colourful dynamic image of an F1 racing driver wearing a helmet and goggles and driving at speed against a bright yellow shaded background with the text in bold yellow, blue, red and white letting below, a box listing the programme information and admission prices for the grandstand and circuit tickets. Sponsored by the Daily Express newspaper the 1955 trophy was won by British racing driver Peter Collins (1931-1958) in a Maserati 250F at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire England; organised by the BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club; founded 1928) since 1949; in 1950 the International Trophy grand prix racing event became a non-championship event under Formula One rules. Very good condition, minor folds.
