Original vintage jewlery advertising poster for SIC Collane e Braccialetti / necklaces and bracelets featuring images of Josephine Baker wearing colourful necklaces and bracelets in three locations - al mare / at the seaside wearing a white swimming costume and standing on a sandy beach with a sailing boat in the distance; a la campagna / in the countryside playing with dogs in front of a tree; and per lo sport / for sports showing her playing tennis on a clay court, reaching up to hit the ball - with a quote reading Fanno la mia Gioia / They give me joy Josephine Baker. The renowned American-born French entertainer, resistance agent, and civil rights activist Josephine Baker (1906-1975) performed as a Jazz Age cabaret dancer at the Folies Bergere, worked with French military intelligence and joined the French Resistance during WWII, supported the Civil Rights Movement and adopted 12 children during the 1950s-1960s. Excellent condition, backed on linen.
