About the Item
Original vintage travel poster promoting the seaside town of Xylocastron / Xylokastro in Corinthia in the Peloponnese - dolce far niente / pleasant relaxation to Xylocastron with the Typaldos Lines to Greece - featuring a colourful image showing a lady in a green polka dot bikini and matching green eyeshadow lying in a hammock strung between two trees in front of ancient Greek ruins on the bright yellow background. The Greek shipping company Typaldos Lines was founded in 1949; it was dissolved in 1968 following the capsize and sinking of its car ferry ship SS Heraklion (launched 1949 as SS Leicestershire for Bibby Line and refitted and reclassified by Typaldos Lines in 1964) in the Aegean Sea. Published by Publi-Suisse. Good condition, creasing, staining on bottom right corner.
