Measures: 30" H x 22" W sheet size, unmatted and in mint condition with full margins.
Title: American Indian No. 4. This print is one of Scholder's best images.
Fritz Scholder (1937-2005) was Native American and an enrolled member of the Luiseno tribe. Scholder's works were recognized for their insight and powerful commentary on publicly held stereotypes of Native Americans and propelled Scholder into a position of prominence as an artist. Scholder's most influential works were Postmodern in sensibility and somewhat Pop Art in execution as he sought to deconstruct the mythos of the American Indian. A teacher at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe in the late 1960s, Scholder influenced a generation of Native American students.
