Rare Antique French Tapestry Fine Silk Louis XV Signed Beauvais 4'6" X 8'7" (5' x 9') 137cmx262cm Circa 1773 "This is a very fine rare authentic Antique French Louis XV Tapestry made with very fine silk on a wool border. This exceptional piece is signed: "MANUF RE ROYAL DE BEAUVAIS1773".This would have been part of a larger group of wall hangings and might have been intended for a music room or a library. The presence of a book by Virgil, the great classical Roman poet, indicates that this was rendered for a patron who was very much attuned to the spirit of times(The Enlightenment).
