Art Nouveau Enamel, Pearl and Diamond Brooch
About the Item
An Art Nouveau enamel, pearl and diamond brooch, with opalescent shaded enamel sinuous curling leaves in pale pink, green and gold, set on the top with an old-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.15 carats and flanked with three natural freshwater pearls, all made in yellow gold, circa 1900, measuring approximately 4.3 x 3.6cm, the pin measuring approximately 3.9cm long, gross weight 9.2 grams.
This elegant brooch is emblematic of graceful Art Nouveau design in its elegant curving lines and shapes. Made at the turn of the 20th century, this brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This brooch features exquisite enamel in pale gold that fades into green and pale pink. The curling and naturalistic forms are beautifully complemented by the natural freshwater pearls, which shine with a beautiful lustre. Delicate and sculptural, this brooch is a fantastic piece.
This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age, with small historical restoration and minimal wear. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold with a 14ct gold pin.
