Paige Mayberry was an SAIC graduate who became an overnight sensation with her label Grass Orchids, which was developed in the early 80s by the women who ran Becky Bisoulis to show case Paige’s hand painted designs . The line consisted of suede coats and capes , fur vests and slinky dresses made of silk and suede All of her designs featured her art work , stylized leaves as seen on this piece , or graceful animals . The original retail on this piece was around $3000 and it is truly a work of art . Paige was the toast of Chicago for around 5 years with socialites lining up around the block in their limos when she had trunk shows.
