Bonnie Cashin for Sills Spring 1968 Cream Check Wool Tweed Coat, Documented

About the Item

Documented, adorable, and highly coveted 1960's Bonnie Cashin wool plaid coat dating to Phillip Sills 1968 Spring Ready to Wear collection. Runway provenance aside, this darling coat is quintessential '60s tweed as well as a classic example of Cashin's clever fashioning of American women's everyday sportswear. This coat is expertly tailored with seamwork that is just as flattering as it is practical. The wool is lightweight and intentionally unlined with interior seam encasing of the same tan calfskin leather present throughout the exterior of the garment. A perfect piece for seasonal layering. The hidden welt pockets blend seamlessly into the leather accent trim at the sides of the coat accentuating the A-Line silhouette. The woven wool buffalo check is a timeless blend of navy blue, tan, and cream. Four shining hammered gold-tone buttons close the front of the coat.  Excellent condition. The coat appears to be unworn! This best fits a Small or Extra Small. The underarm (pit-to-pit) fit is best for a size US 4 or 2.
