Rare F/W 2004 John Galliano for the House of Dior. This collection featured oversized silhouettes, including the high drama of "Poiret-style" coats. This coat is look # 1 and opened the show. Oversized coat fashioned of fine heavy wool in a faux patchwork pattern of leopard and plaid in bright contrasting colors of gold and turquoise with splashes of brown and orange. The coat features a huge oversize collar; wide dolman sleeves with cut-away front closure of pleated layers of green and chartreuse yellow silk organza. The back portion of the collar is wool and structured to be raised and lifted at back of neck. There is a pleated overlay of silk organza with an oversized hand made organza flower at back neckline. Interior lined in green silk charmeuse. Oversized single turquoise button handwrapped in silk with matching color center seeds. Single hook and eye closure. My mannequin is about 5' 9 1/2". The coat is extremely weighty with an approximate weight of 15-20 pounds, perhaps more. Condition: excellent; no wear. very possibly unworn. Could be sample from press office, based on label.
