An ultra rare and highly coveted Thea Porter Couture ‘Samawa’ colorful woven wool coat dating back to her fall-winter 1969 collection. An example of this gorgeous garment can be found in the book 'Thea Porter: Bohemian Chic' by Laura McLaws Helms and Venetia Porter on page 60. This is a such a unique and truly iconic piece within her body of work. I adore the vibrant abstract natural yarn pattern work, which was inspired by Iraqi 'Samawa' carpets, as well as the side hemline slits that reveal a luxurious black satin lining.
