1970s Leonard Poly Jersey Abstract Print Floral Dress

About the Item

This striking 1970s dress in navy, orange, red, green and white boasts a classic Leonard style abstract floral print in poly jersey fabric. The dress is knee length with elbow length sleeves and has a double row of navy oval buttons down the front. The dress comes with its original belt - a simple tie design which echoes the bottom trim of the dress and the cuffs. The designer Daniel Tribouillard defined his aesthetic using printed jersey fabrics, much akin to Pucci with whom his designs are often associated. Like Pucci, the Leonard signature is often incorporated into the surface design, in this instance it can be found in blue/grey and orange colours of the dress. As you would expect from a Leonard design, the French construction is impeccable and the fabric label advises it can be hand washed - hurrah! The dress is in excellent vintage condition; a couple of the plastic buttons may have changed colour over the years but other than this it is gently used and there are no issues. Size wise the dress is a loose fit and can be cinched in at the waist with the matching tie belt. The maximum waist of the belt is 28 inches but this is an optional accessory as the dress has no belt loop. We esimate the dress will best fit those in the range of UK 8-12 to US 4-8.
