Early 1970s André Laug Taupe Textured Silk Dress with Radiating Gathered Waist
About the Item
Textured taupe silk dress by André Laug dating to the early 1970s. The fabric has a subtle woven pattern that gives the surface some depth without being busy. The front is cut with a deep V neckline and short sleeves, with the fabric drawn into a tight gathered point at the center of the waist. From there the material radiates outward, creating soft folds that shape the bodice and skirt.
The skirt falls in a simple A-line, keeping the silhouette easy while the gathered construction at the waist provides the main structure and visual focus. It’s a clean, well-balanced design that relies on cut and drape rather than embellishment.
No size is indicated. Best fits a US 4 or 6.
Approximate measurements are: shoulder 16", bust 33" with some flexibility, waist 30", (interior waistband which can easily be removed measures approximately 26-26.5"), hips 40" and overall length at center back 37".
Fully lined in silk.
Zips up center back and secures with a hook and eye.
