About the Item
VIVIENNE TAM, "Kuan Yin" Mesh, Budda Dress, MET MUSEUM, Spring/Summer 1997.
Kuan Yin, also known as Guanyin, is the Bodhisattva of compassion and mercy, revered in East Asian Buddhism. Transformation into the female form of compassion.
From an Important Collection. Provence upon request. This dress comes from a high profile client that has a fantastic wardrobe. Purchased in the 90s, this dress is in great shape. Long, budda dress, no holes, no rips. Very popular and rare piece with provenance!
Vivenne Tam gifted the MET Museum with the same dress. It is the budda on the front and back. It is a mesh material that stretches. Can be worn evening or day with the right accessories. For evening a long draper would be a beautiful ensemble or alone with a fabulous smile.
Great for traveling.
