About

1950's Gene Shelly designer garments are in a class of their own. They are always fully-sequined by hand and fit to flatter the figure. This treasure has a fantastic abstract-deco design worked in, featuring iridescent-beadwork around three-dimensional rhinestone florets. The base is an ultra-soft baby yellow wool-knit and the sequin work is done in the same hue. Though the neckline is plunging, the cap-sleeves give it a balanced elegance that Gene Shelly is known for. If the plunge is too revealing, there are hidden closures for a scoop-neck bodice. I love the nipped-waist hourglass wiggle skirt! This is the type of garment celebrity vixens, like Marilyn Monroe, made infamous. Extraordinary and a rare find to be in such pristine condition.
