About

Breathtaking Jeanne Lanvin Castillo navy-blue & ivory satin cocktail dating back to 1955. Castillo was invited by Jeanne Lanvin's daughter to design for her mother's firm in Paris, with hopes of relaunching the firm's name. Jeanne Lanvin, the founder of the house, had died in 1946 and the salon needed someone to maintain it's traditions. From 1950 to 1962 the House of Lanvin Castillo was known for elegant clothes, slender lines and rich fabrics. I adore the low-cut plunge, fully-boned strapless with its avant-garde asymmetric fold detail. Unique pointed inset seamed pieces have been placed beautifully in a zig-zag technique which is insanely hard to do. The hourglass nipped waist flatters the figure and turns any woman into a starlet. Just when you think this show-stopper couldn't get any more stunning, the fringed shawl-wrap graces your shoulders. You do not easily find this level of workmanship on garments today.
