About

The Edward Abbott company produced great little dresses that were of great quality and design - especially in the early years. Here we have a really wonderful late forties, early fifties bombshell of a dress that is made of a inky black silk satin that is then completely covered in tightly spaced rows of fringe. It is strapless and fitted to hug the body with the waist defined with a pleated band of the same silk satin. The fringed rows sit atop each other in a layered pattern from top to bottom and the movement this creates every time you move is just fabulous. The top is kept simple and sexy with a curved bodice and inner boning to create shape. The waist nips in to give you that coveted hourglass shape and the skirt is fitted and lean so your every curve is accentuated. Wonderfully constructed and certainly not your basic little black dress. Fringe is the detail of the season and an original dress with it head to toe is a great find. Excellent condition

Fully interlined with boning through the bodice. Closes with a side metal zipper. Inner waist stay that closes with hook & eye. All of the fringing is in excellent condition. Hand finished
