About

This gorgeous House of Worth Haute-Couture cocktail ensemble, dating back to their 1953 collection, is in a class of its own. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; vibrant feather-light silk in a unique magenta and black abstract garden motif. The bodice has a stunning scoopneck plunge with ruched short sleeves and detachable portrait shawl-collar. I adore the hourglass nipped-waist. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and finishes with a chic slightly pleated back fishtail. The architectural shape really allows one to appreciate the brilliant texture. A rare piece of French fashion history in beautiful museum quality.
