1971 LORIS AZZARO gown with beading

About the Item

This stunning 1971 Loris Azzaro haute couture gown is made from taupe jersey with soft gathers under the bust that give it an elongated shape. The neckline, waist, and cuffs are hand-embellished with gold metalwork, crystals, paillettes and beads, creating a strong focal point against the simplicity of the fabric. The long, sleeves gather at the wrists. This dress is a great example of Azzaro’s early 1970s style—sculptural and glamorous. A very similar gown was photographed on French actress Michele Morgan. Best fits a 4 or 6. Measures approximately (unstretched): shoulder 14", 33" at bust, 29.5" at waist, 42" at hips, arm length 26" and 60" in overall length. Zips up back and secures with hook/eyes at back of collar. Hidden snap closures at wrists. Made in France. Good condition.
