1920's Watercolor Roses Floral Garden Beaded Purple Silk-Chiffon Flapper Dress

About

There are lots of lovely 1920's garments still around, but every once in a while I come across one that sets my heart a flutter! This is an extraordinarily beautiful and exceptional 1920's French couture museum quality silk-chiffon dance dress. The watercolor rose-garden scenic design is pure wearable art. It is embellished all over with ivory glass-beads, whose circular cut creates a dazzling sparkle. The work is entirely hand applied with 3-dimensional aspects throughout. My favorite detail is the dramatic cut-out backside which is so incredibly modern. The looped fringe hemline really sets this garment apart from other flapper dresses of the time. It is amazing that a piece with this amount of presence can literally feel almost weightless but it does. So romance and rare! The pictures say it all. Measurements Bust:38 inches Hips:40 inches Total Length:42 inches This antique French flapper dress is in excellent wearable condition with no stains, rips or holes. The garment slips over the head with side shoulder snaps. Only sign of wear is minor bead-loss. This dress is over 90 years old and is truly breathtaking.
