Caftan-style dress in black Assuit fabric, mesh woven with silver metal, that originated in Egypt and popularized after the Egyptomania following the opening of King Tut's tomb in 1922. Simple woven pattern throughout punctuated by geometric motifs front center, at wrists, and at hem. Hand-stitched lining around neck and wrists. Approximate size 6-8; fabric has some give, slips over the head.
