Black Silk Velvet Imperialist Chandelier Bead and Passementerie Gown–XS-S, 1950s

About the Item

A gown that would be right at home sledding through the steppes or attending the Mariinsky Theater, this regal dress literally drips with understated glamour. Eye-catching thanks to its dangling faceted gemstone trim, it remains subtle due to its statuesque cut and black-on-black colorway. Chill the vodka and serve the caviar! Spaghetti strap gown with gentle sweetheart bodice and princess seams; flexible stays at left and right bodice seams. Braided passementerie and nail head trim around top edge of bodice, down full length of gown front at left and right hip line, and across gown front at bust, knee and calf; dangling faceted teardrop beads and knotted tassels at all horizontal passementerie.
