Bob Mackie Elizabeth the First 1970's Black Devoré Velvet Gown with Crystals

About the Item

A rare couture piece designed by Bob Mackie and Ray Aghayan from their short-lived Beverly Hills custom atelier Elizabeth The First. This stunning gown has been crafted from a black devoré velvet and lined with a silk crepe-back satin in a golden hue (the lining in the cups has been professionally replaced with a color-matched fabric). The gown features a sexy triangle cup neckline and sleek spaghetti straps that cross against the open back. The column-silhouetted skirt, which perfectly falls across the body, is embellished with colorful crystals that are strategically placed to create flower clusters. Invisible zipper in back for easy in and out. The outer garment is in very good vintage condition. A few areas of small repair. The lining has some stains throughout that are not visible because of the devoré velvet. Fits like a US 6 or Small. Bust: 34"+ Under-bust: 28" Waist: 29" Hip: Up to 37" Length: 52"
