1950's Claire Schaffel Watercolor Floral-Print Silk Peplum Cocktail Party Dress

About

In this gorgeous 1950's "Claire Schaffel" designer cocktail dress, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern haute-couture. Claire Schaffel was a native of Switzerland where had her own dressmaking establishment. In 1955 she opened her own business, making custom dresses and ensembles. This enchanting garment is fashioned from imported watercolor floral-garden silk. The elegant bodice is fully boned with an inner corset and has stunning cap-sleeves. I love the flattering hourglass nipped waist which channels the perfect "femme fatale" silhouette. The side-peplum skirting is fabulous; full but not overwhelming. Stylish, feminine luxury will never go out of style. There is nothing quite so enduringly chic and timeless as a floral print dress for a woman whose outward exquisiteness mirrors her inner charm. Measurements Bust:33-34 inches Waist:26 inches Hips:Swing Sweep Total Length:40 inches This vintage "Claire Schaffel" cocktail dress is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. Perfectly working back metal-zipper. This item is over 50 years old and is truly stunning!
