About

A stunning dress by Dior haute couture from the Autumn Winter 1988 collection, the first collection of Gianfranco Ferré for Dior, who was head of Dior from 1988 until 1997. The dress is crafted in a beautiful gunmetal grey silk taffeta and has all the hallmarks of a fine Dior haute couture dress; exquisite signature pleating, superb pattern-cutting and a richness and silhouette that is unmistakeably Dior. The dress offers a high back, arm cover and a deeply cut neckline for a flattering décolletage and is finished with a wonderful double train at the rear that adds a dose of Black Tie and Red Carpet glamour.

Dior has been at the forefront of taste since its creation in 1947 and following the death of Christian Dior in 1957, the couture house has continued to blossom under its subsequent directors Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simmons.
