Vintage Fall-Winter 1968 Geoffrey Beene evening dress. Dress was purchased at Bergdorf Goodman on the Plaza New York and is dated November 21, 1968 on interior tag. Dress is ivory and brown silk faille. Vest-like bodice with button detail at pleated cumberbun waistband. Long sleeves button at cuffs. Very full skirt with two pockets. Dress buttons at front and closes at back with two zippers. Lined. Very similar to a dress in the Metropolitan Museum of Art permanent collections (2001.393.7). There is no fabric content label, however this dress is crafted of silk and lined in rayon or polyester. There is no size label, therefore please refer to measurements to insure a proper fit. Measurements: Shoulder: 15" (seam to seam) Sleeve: 22.5" (shoulder seam to cuff) Chest: 34" (armpit to armpit) Waist: 25" (narrowest point) Hip: Full Total Length: 57.5" (measured on back, shoulder seam to hem)
