In this gorgeous 1950's Helga designer gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern Haute-Couture. Helga was established in 1947 by Robert Oppenheimer and his wife Helga Kallman Oppenheimer. Robert managed the business while Helga designed the evening wear for which the company became known. Based first in San Francisco, but moving to Los Angeles in the early 1950's, the company was somewhat of an oddity in that most California clothing companies were producers of sportswear. This captivating garment is fashioned from double layered silk satin in a beautiful emerald-green color. The bodice is an alluring sweetheart plunge bow, fully-boned strapless. The sparkling rhinestones and beadwork give the garment so much depth. The belted nipped waist full-length skirt flows in a perfect "Old Hollywood" swing style. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique. Breathtaking and timeless; I totally imagine this gliding down the red carpet! Measurements Bust:32-33 inches Waist:24 inches Hips:Free Sweep Length top to waist:10 inches Length waist to hem:41 inches This 1950's Helga designer gown is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. Perfectly working back metal-zipper and support boning. This garment is truly stunning and an investment piece that will only increase in value!
