1950's Jeanne Lafaurie Couture Watercolor Floral-Print Satin Strapless Gown

About

Breathtaking Jeanne Lafaurie Couture watercolor garden gown from the 1950's "new look" era of fashion. Jeanne Lafaurie was a Paris couturiere, designing from 1925 until 1958, whose house was known for spectacular fabrics and fine draping. Andre Courreges even worked there as a draftsman in 1947 before opening his own atelier! I adore the vibrant floral print silk-satin which in itself is wearable art. The bodice is a seductive fully-boned sculpted strapless. The matching nipped-waist, long, slightly-pleated ballroom skirt finishes this masterpiece off with the perfect ethereal vibe. Measurements Bodice Bust:32-33 inches Waist:25 inches Total Length:11 inches Skirt Waist:24 inches Hips:Free Sweep Total Length:42 inches This vintage Jeanne Lafaurie Couture ensemble is in excellent condition with no rips or holes. Perfectly working side metal-zipper. Signs of age are some holes to inner tulle corset and faint spots to the skirt, which blend into the watercolor pattern. This item is over 50 years old and is truly exquisite.
