About

Amazing vintage ball gown custom made for 1950s opera singer Alberta Hopkins. Net overdress is heavily embellished with glossy and textured black sequins. Strapless bodice is boned and has an internal grosgrain ribbon waistband. The hemline of the skirt is stiffened with a wide band of synthetic horse hair braid. The gown closes up the back with a metal zipper and is fully lined in taffeta. Comes with the original black crinoline underskirt which closes in back with hooks and eye. There is no fabric content label, but this dress feels like it is crafted of a nylon net with a rayon taffeta lining. The underskirt feels like it is crafted of a cotton blend crinoline. There is no size content label as this gown was custom made, but it appears to fit like a current women's "Extra Small" with a full bust. Please refer to measurements to ensure a proper fit.
