Hermès unusual toile de jouy cotton dress. circa 1960s

About the Item

Heritage and tradition are key words in fashion to describe Hermès. Like many of the world’s most prestigious luxury , such as Gucci and Vuitton, Hermès have a long history going back more than a century. This dress is a piece that certainly embodies Hermès's luxury and elegance. Constructed from a cotton toile de journey decorated with an exquisite print of black birds on a chocolate background. Featuring a round neckline with draped shoulders. The raglan three-quarter sleeves are pleated and tapered at the elbows. The bodice is lined with panels of black chiffon material. The A-line skirt is pleated, gathered at the waist and lined with a silk-like synthetic material. This feminine and elegant piece is gathered at the back from the shoulders to the waist. Fastening is with a long zip from neckline to the hip.
