Jean Paul Gaultier designed his rare and memorable 1995 runway collection influenced by combining a mix of decades to achieve a totally modern silhouette creating a "old new one". The collection was featured in Vogue and the New York Times. His aim was to design using an old style and combining into a modern take on fashion of then 1990's. The evening dress is comprised of two(2) individual layered pieces. The bottom layer is comprised of a dark nude shade turtle neck halter style body hugging piece. Finished with wide flare 3 layer hemline with unfinished border. Features open back with long back zipper closure. Black lace scalloped overlay boasts scenes of Paris, the Eiffel Tower and JPG initials (Jean Paul Gaultier) worked into the fabric. This also has 1 back zipper. This rare Gaultier design is one of his most special pieces in the collection and featured in style #61. The evening pieces was designed to be coveted by fashionistas, museum collections and collectors alike. Excellent condition.
