Rare to find label,Lisa Meril...In 1970 Jo Copeland was hired by Richard Pacun who owned fashion label Lisa Meril...Famously Jo Copeland was best remembered for her "after five" ensembles for dinner or the theater...In 1961, she received the award of Chevalier de l'Ordre Courtoise Francais...After closing Patullo-Jo Copeland in 1970, Copeland accepted a position with Lisa Meril,a dress line owed by Richard Pacun, where she designed dresses for women to "actually wear"...Here from the 1970s a romantic gown in the most amazing painted French blue cut silk velvet fabric...Gown with bateau neckline that dips low in the back, elbow length sleeves with flare at the hem... bodice, sleeves and under bust band are trimmed in gold cord with gold bead and rhinestones, the skirt is softly gathered,dress is fully lined in rayon the facings are silk, closes at the back with a zipper & hook/eye...This gown has been cleaned, there is some yellowing to the lining inside front and a couple of places in the skirt lining, which is not seen from the outside...All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear...Any condition issues will be noted... Measurements are: Bust 32"-34" waist 25" hip 34" sleeve length 18" back length 53 1/2"
