Sheer Hollywood Regency Bias Wedding Gown with Cathedral Train, 1930s

You would be forgiven for thinking this is an uptight wedding gown because of its age and sleeves. Of course we would direct your attention to the transparent lace insets that discourage the use of underwear. Vintage long sleeve bright white bias cut gown with five-foot train. Shirred bodice framed by inset lace at waistline, shoulders, upper back and down front at each leg. Princess seams down full length of back skirt. Long tapered sleeves with points at wrists; elbow tucks. Side zipper closure; single snap at each wrist. Unlined. fabric: silk satin noteworthy: dry clean only alterations: replaced zipper condition: very good with light, age-appropriate surface bruising measurements: shoulders: approx 14” sleeve: approx 24” from shoulder, 17” from underarm arm circumference: 14” at underarm, 6” at wrist bust: 35” underbust/rib cage: 30” waist: 24” hips: 44” length: 52 ½” from shoulder to shortest point (front) of skirt, 45” from underarm to shortest point (front) of skirt sweep: 230” train: 60” hem: none label: no label present size: no size tag present; comparable to modern size extra small
