A silk pongee & White Embroidery Chiffon Summer Dress - France Circa 1920

Beautiful seaside resort dress for the seaside or the spa in Vichy ! Superb work of broderies anglaise on chiffon silk or ecru silk pongee playing with the transparency of the light pink silk pongee underdress. Straight bag cut, ample and blousante with three-quarter sleeves and puffed under sleeve in ecru cotton tulle. Scalloped front closed with press studs. Low waist on the hips decorated with a sewn belt in brocaded oriental satin with a side "cocarde" in the manner of the Ballets Russes. Underneath is a slightly distended integrated elastic belt. Rare piece without claws and potentially Haute Couture. Very nice couture finish. Clean and flawless dress. Very good condition of colour and conservation.
Dimensions: Equivalent to French size 38/40. Height 131 cm, chest 85/90 cm, sleeves 34 cm, shoulders 38 cm, hips 93 cm.
